COVID-19 & LEADERSHIP IN NIGERIA. Samuel Danauta Kyarshik

COVID-19 & Leadership In Nigeria! --------------------------------------------- --------------- Whether or not it was manufactured in the US or China. I don't know and I can say more than that about Covid-19. What I can say is very simple: COVID-19 has proven more than ever before that we have very incompetent leaders in the position of power at least on the average. COVID-19 has revealed the leadership dearth in this country. And as citizens, instead of constructive criticism (of course there is no doubt that some people have constructively criticized the government), we have gone into our normal way of accepting mediocrity and endorsing fire brigade approach to life and dead matters. This is getting to a month since we confirm the first case, most states are yet to have COVID-19 testing kits...what is wrong with these men? We are just about building Isolation Centers for a nation that is more than 50 years old. If we had sense to know that we needed to establish agencies like...

Oshiomhole said Buhari asked him to head APC in a bid to reform the party and turn its fortune around. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the immediate past APC National Chairman insisted that he did his best while in office. The former Edo State governor also disclosed that the president mobilised support for his emergence as APC National Chairman. He said: “I ceased to be the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC. “Mr. President graciously invited me to run for the office of the chairmanship of the party in 2018, precisely about two years ago. The president told me then that if we did not reform the All Progressives Congress, we can as well forget about 2019. Those ...

GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON'S ADVISE TO BUHARI

GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON'S ADVISE TO BUHARI... "There was corruption in Nigeria when Awolowo built Cocoa House, TV station and the first university in Africa There was corruption in Nigeria when IBB built Third Mainland Bridge, built Aso Rock, National Assembly Complex, turned Abuja into our Federal capital territory. There was corruption in Nigeria when Obasanjo brought Gsm, banking reform, police reform, civil defence, There was corruption in Nigeria when Jonathan introduced BVN and PVC, built 12 new federal universities, revamped railway lines, made Our economy fastest growing in Africa & third in the world. If anyone tells you the reason Buhari is not working is that he inherited corruption, tell them great leaders don't blame people and events for their failures. They simply accept responsibility and move on. Ask them, what has Buhari done after all the fake promise of fixing power in 6wks, reducing pump price to #45 naira, making N1 equal to a $ 1, stopping Boko Hara...

Leadership Is Everything. SAMUEL DANAUTA KYARSHIK

Leadership IS Everything -------------------------------------- The key to a leader’s impact is sincerity. Before he can inspire with emotion he must be swayed by it himself. Before he can move their tears his own must flow. To convince them he must himself believe. Winston Churchill The principal obstacle to the transformation of most African nations is ineffective leadership. The most peaceful environment. The most advanced technology. The most intelligent team. The most thoughtful strategy. The most available resources. And the best tactical execution can be totally outshined and or outdone by a poor leader. This is true for all nations and for all human societies. This is what I mean, it is practically impossible to build a great nation if the leader is weak. It’s not going to work. The leader sets the tone of the game or the tone and direction of the kind of change he wants to see. The leader is the direction for the entire state or nation. Every leadership style has a multiplier ...

3 Powerful Reasons Why We Are Not Yet There As A State and As a Nation! SAMUEL DANAUTA KYARSHIK

3 Powerful Reasons Why We Are Not Yet There As A State and As a Nation! --------------------------------------------- ----------- There is no doubt that we are currently far behind other nations of the earth including those we started with in terms of Technology and Development. We are about 45 years old as a State, 60 years as a Nation and about 60 years old too as an independent continent. With a continuous barrage of failed leadership, we keep going in a vicious circle of stagnation. Straight to the point the number one reason of our under development is: #1. Leaders Without Personal Vision. Helen Keller many years ago said and I quote, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision”. I have said it many times that there are few men who have vision for their personal lives. A lot of people are just living life without an end goal or a precise destination. A leader without personal vision is a disaster when given the position of power. That’s why these kind of l...

The Tripartite of Leadership: Part 2 Critical Leadership Competencies & Leadership Skills by SAMUEL DANAUTA KYARSHIK

The Tripartite of Leadership: Part 2 Critical Leadership Competencies & Leadership Skills What Makes a Successful Leader? There is no doubt if you read my last post about the above topic, you would have known and agree with me that, leadership is in three dimensions. So just as we have God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, we have Man the spirit, Man with a soul and lives in a body, that’s also a trinity. The tripartite nature of leadership is namely; the Leader, the Position & the Skills. This is what I call the triple alliance of leadership. And like I said in the last post I will say again that there cannot be a functional leader without these basic interactions. There will always be a position to be occupied by a man who is usually called the leader. There must be a leader who must occupy a vacant leadership position and the third thing is that the leader must come with certain leadership skills to function very effectively in that position. So let’s talk abo...

As Men Celebrates Fathers Day Around The World.

What an awesome Father’s Day message: One who loves till you close your eyes, is a Mother.  One who loves without an expression in the eyes, is a Father. ____________________________ Mother's - Introduces you to the world. Father - Introduces the world to you. ___________________________  Mother  : Gives you life  Father   : Gives you living __________________________ Mother  : Makes sure you are not starving. Father  : Makes sure you know the value of starving __________________________ Mother : Personifies Care Father: Personifies Responsibility __________________________ Mother : Protects you from a fall Father : Teaches you to get up from a fall. __________________________ Mother : Teaches you walking. Father : Teaches you walk of life __________________________ Mother : Teaches from her own experiences. Father : Teaches you to learn from your own experiences. __________________________ Mother :  Reflects Ideology Father :  Reflects ...

The Tripartite Of Leadership Or The Triple Alliance Of Leadership by Samuel Danauta Kyarshik

The Tripartite Of Leadership Or The Triple Alliance of Leadership! I have always said that leadership is not position even though it is part of it. Leadership is not money. It is not physical size and it is not how much you have in your account. As a matter fact, leadership is not how long you have served in the civil service. It is not titles or number of degrees to your name. It is also not the number of awards you have received over the years. ultimately, leadership is not eloquence. By that I mean the ability to speak fluently. While some of the virtues mentioned above are qualities that a leader should have, there is more to leadership than just knowing how to talk or know how to dress in baban riga or a clean suit. This is where we often miss it. Our inability to differentiate between a man and a leader is a problem. I find this problem very common with the youths who will assume that anybody that has money is automatically a leader. And once he doles out some cash into their acc...
