COVID-19 & LEADERSHIP IN NIGERIA. Samuel Danauta Kyarshik

COVID-19 & Leadership In Nigeria!
---------------------------------------------
---------------
Whether or not it was manufactured in the US or China. I don't know and I can say more than that about Covid-19. What I can say is very simple: COVID-19 has proven more than ever before that we have very incompetent leaders in the position of power at least on the average. COVID-19 has revealed the leadership dearth in this country.
And as citizens, instead of constructive criticism (of course there is no doubt that some people have constructively criticized the government), we have gone into our normal way of accepting mediocrity and endorsing fire brigade approach to life and dead matters. This is getting to a month since we confirm the first case, most states are yet to have COVID-19 testing kits...what is wrong with these men?
We are just about building Isolation Centers for a nation that is more than 50 years old. If we had sense to know that we needed to establish agencies like NCDC then we should have known that infectious diseases need isolation and if you have to isolate then you need a special facility to Isolate.
Why are we trying to do that now. With new cases, whether or not it is high or low, but that we have to take blood samples to Abuja to be tested its a disgrace.
I have asked few questions before now and there are no genuine answers. Scientists, Doctors and Pharmacists etc. all over the world are on the front line trying to get solution to the problem and they are updating the world about it. Back here all we have been hearing are Press Releases of Lock-down, New Cases, No Entry and No Exit, people relocating because of suspected cases, don't move out of your house, Law enforcement brutalizing innocent Nigerians and even killing some, selective shut down of places of worship etc....
Nigeria with the highest number of medical practitioners in Africa, we don't hear updates of research results about the solution, the drugs to fight COVID-19. They are just confirming new cases and issuing guidelines or precautionary measures WHO provided for the world....when will we learn to be proactive and not reactive to issues that concerns human life?
"Our emergency response systems are poor if there are any, then we are poor crises managers because we are never proactive, we never prepare ourselves and get the systems ready to tackle crises".
We only know how to demand for money....go and check the price of Chloroquine now in the medicine stores, then you will see the other side of the story....
Please call a spade a spade...If the black man is not highly resistant to this virus, the worst would have happened in Africa. Thank God and that's why we have few cases and more than 99% recovery after infection.
CMDs of Teaching Hospitals that cannot provide surgical gloves are asking for millions to establish Isolation Centers: Doctors who are not faithful in keeping their contracts to save lives in the public hospitals are currently shouting as though they are good people.....hey lets call a spade a spade....
By the way, please don't get me wrong, i know very good doctors both within Jos and without....I know very smart medical practitioners who are just angels but have no facilities to work with because their systems and their principals are pocket oriented.....their sense of entitlement supersedes their sense of societal transformation and human development. These must change when we begin to challenge the status quo before we see pandemics not when they come...
You may call this noise, it will catch up with you....You may call this anything but good...statistics don't lie that we are very low down in the life expectancy index....
God, give us men, good men and women who will lay down their lives for their country....

WHY LANGTANG SOUTH NEEDS A SERVANT LEADER 2023

According to Dr. Myles Munroe " Leadership means discovering and serving yourself to the world. Genuire leadership is not measured by how many people serve you but by how many people you serve."  Through empowerment and community development, the aspirant for Langtang South House of Assembly Barr. Durven Nancwat Nanchang empowered his constituents through education.  He stressed that "education is key to success in life, without education life cannot be totally transformed." We need a rising generation that will challenge the social status quo by bringing out the best in youths in Langtang South. "If only our leaders can focus on educating the up coming generation, then we can proudly say there is future for our youths in Langtang South."
