THE UNFORTUNATE INCIDENCE AT THE RESETTLEMENT DAY CELEBRATION 

The leadership of the NGWANG ISHI O'TAROK is not unmindful of the incidence that took place on the 5th March, 2022 at the occasion of the RESETTLEMENT DAY celebration at Sabon Gida, Langtang South.

I have seen the zeal and concern shown by Tarok sons and daughters both within and in diaspora over the unfortunate incidence. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

I wish to state that the leadership of NIO and the Tarok Joint Traditional Council, is making frantic efforts towards addressing the issue and as such consultations are ongoing.  In no distance time, a resolution will come out.

The NIO wishes to further remind  all Tarok sons and daughters that we are all brothers and sisters in our collective resolve to bring back to Tarok Nation her lost glory, hence, the slogan of this administration, *I'TAROK IS ONE*. This slogan should not be undermined by any of us. 

Accordingly, I wish to appeal as follows;

✓ To enable an amiacable settlement of the matter, further comments, most especially on social media, should be suspended or at least restrained; 

✓ That all administrators of various Tarok groups on social media should regulate and monitor compliance.

✓ That this appeal is not in anyway an attempt to infringe on anybody's right to freedom of speech as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution, but an appeal for restrain to allow the leadership of NIO handle the issue devoid of any sentiment and in a conducive atmosphere. 

- The unfortunate incidence is a one -off occurrence which should not and must not be allowed to adversely affect the age-long harmonious relationship amongst sons and daughters, or future events in any part of Tarok Land . 

Finally, may I appeal to all Tarok Sons and daughters to continue to live in peace with each other.
